In a nutshell: Went to UCSB, where I discovered what would become my passion: journalism. Graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Became a reporter and editor for several newspapers. Then there was that Internet thing, which was a dagger in the heart of newspapers. So I went to work for the Milken Institute, a think tank in Santa Monica, in charge of communications and events. And, oh yes, I got married (34 years now) and had two sons. (Still waiting for grandchildren.) Now retired and enjoying life. It's great seeing all of your stories. Life has been interesting.
